When you Tweet a company, it can take a while for their customer service team to respond. Alternatively, your customers might find the answers to their queries within the app itself, doing away with the need for them to contact you in the first place.

To further encourage uptake, you can offer promotions and exclusive offers that can only be found via the app (and tell your customers about those app-only deals).

In a relatively short space of time, apps and smartphones have completely altered the way businesses communicate with customers.
